Las Vegas Schools Prosper this Summer

"A Celebration of Progress" marks the opening of the New School Construction Las Vegas

Last August, the schools in Las Vegas and Government gathered at the Cashman Theatre for "A Celebration of Progress." This was a celebration of the system at the opening of nine new schools and an alternative school in Las Vegas School. Officials were present in Las Vegas schools, Nevada state officials, community leaders, schoolCustomers and architects. Schools Las Vegas, "A Celebration of Progress" was hosted by entertainer Clint Holmes.

The event was sponsored by the Council of Educational Facility Planners International, this is the eighth year that the Council of Educational Facility Planners International has sponsored this event. The Council of Educational Facility Planners International is an organization of professional education and housing, to improve the placesstudents learn. Various models and renderings of the new plants were found and created new students of these schools exhibitions to promote the spirit of the school. Keynote speaker this year was Las Vegas schools, "Superintendent Dr. Walt Rulffes and Mrs. Ruth Johnson, president of the Clark County School District School Board of Trustees. The Hal Smith Elementary School Choir, and the squires CP After School All-Stars team folk dance.

The newSchool buildings built to a year in Las Vegas schools increased school enrollment, about 12,000 new students enrolled for 2006-2007. This influx of new students will take the total number of school students in Las Vegas to over 300,000. The new schools are six elementary schools, two middle schools and a gym. The school building is to replace a gym.

On August 9 "A Celebration of Progress"Event Paul Gerner, associate superintendent for facilities, architectural and thanked the parties that has made possible the new schools. Schools in Las Vegas "system is likely to continue for many years to come significant growth.

Las Vegas School students participating in Youth Leadership Summit

This summer, several schools in Las Vegas "turned to the young student's Leadership Summit in Washington, DC The youth leadershipSummit was created through a partnership between the National Council for Community and partnership between schools and Booz Allen Hamilton. The Youth Leadership Summit is designed to engage students with the opportunity, in education reform. Students invited to the Youth Leadership Summit, participants Las Vegas schools, "One Gear program, the program is a national college should increase the number of students going to university and successfully. In addition towith participation in the Gear Up program, students were selected based on their academic performance, leadership positions in their schools and take recommendations from their principals and teachers. All participants from Las Vegas schools Seniors in schools 2006-2007.

The Youth Leadership Summit include various activities in the areas of teamwork and leadership that invited students to share their own experiences as educatorsshould improve student performance. The proposals that led to including the Youth Leadership Summit: to create information centers that students and families find the information for higher education and the creation of peer and adult tutoring and mentoring programs to help average students and support high school.
